A classic North Indian dish, Palak Paneer combines soft paneer cubes with a silky spinach-based gravy. This quick handi-style recipe is rich, creamy, and packed with nutrients—perfect with naan, roti, or rice. Healthy, delicious, and easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer (cubed)
  • 500g fresh spinach (palak) – washed & blanched
  • 1 – 2 tbsps (25-50g) Handi Mix
  • 1 – 1 1/2 glass water (250-375ml)
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee for spinach (Palak)
  • 4 -5 tbsp oil or ghee for Paneer
  • Red Chillies (If you like it hot)
  • Garam masala
  • Salt to taste (If Needed)
  • Fresh coriander and/or green chilies (for garnish)

Flavour-Boosting Tricks:

For extra creaminess, blend a few cashews with the spinach.
Roast the paneer lightly before adding for a richer taste.
A teaspoon of kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) enhances the aroma.
A little butter at the end gives a restaurant-style finish.

Do’s & Don’ts:

✔️ Do blanch the spinach to keep its vibrant green color.
✔️ Do stir gently when adding paneer to prevent it from breaking.
Don’t overcook the spinach—it can turn bitter.
Don’t add too much water—the gravy should be thick and creamy.

Quick Method:

  • Add Oil in the pan with medium heat
  • Add fresh spinach (palak) into the pan.
  • Add water & Handi Mix paste and stir slowly untill all is mixed well
  • Cover the pan with the lid. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes on medium heat until the spinach (palak) is soft and creamy.
  • Fry paneer cubes in a separate flat pan with oil until golden brown.
  • Add fried paneer cubes into the spinach (palak) and let it simmer for 3-5 mins
  • Sprinkle garam masala, and let it rest for 3 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot!
